An amazing cocktail. How about adding some egg white to it?

Egg white is a good call. Indeed, Peter Dorelli of Savoy fame once told me that there's almost no cocktail that doesn't benefit from some egg white.

Great balance of sweet and sour. One of my new favourites

Love a cocktail with a little history (even if most of the stories seem apocryphal)
The bourbon is there, but the other flavors blend nicely. This would be a delightful summer drink, but no complaints having this in December (it’s summer in Australia)

Very tasty bourbon cocktail. If you can’t decide between a manhattan and a whiskey sour, you should go for a Man o’ War.

After reading your description, I had to try it. I've now had 3 and can say, it's probably my favourite cocktail!

Just tried, it's exactly like you've described, although I've felt a slight prevail of Manhattan component, probably due to intense aftertaste of Martini.

A perfect accompaniment for Creole/Cajun cuisine.

3 stars for current recipe, bumped up to four with a spot of sugar syrup.

Agreed. I've added a spoon (5ml) of sugar syrup accordingly but perhaps just 1/2 spoon will suit many.
