Great drink. Homemade falernum and skip the bitters (not needed).

Love this. It definitely needs to the Jamaican rum to get the correct amount of funk needed. However, you would need to like the Jamaican funk. If not, I sure you could make this with any other rum and it would be enjoyable. Nicely dry.

I used gold Puerto Rican rum and Demerara rum. For a drink so boozey this was surprisingly mellow and pleasant. One of my favourites

This drink shouldn't work, but it somehow does. Perhaps I'd call this drink a "diet zombie".
