Knob creek 9 does awesome on this one. need bold spirit to hold its own against all the other ingredients.
is a great tiki drink on its own right, that being said i say the zombie is better, whats not better with 30 ml pineaple anyways ? :P After blending i added 15ml grenadine to mine (mines is high juice) and squeezed the rest of the lime to total lime 22.5ml, a even better cocktail to my taste , if im ever craving a zombie without pineapple id revisit this comment xD
Remade with amaro, used smith and cross and there wasnt any trace of amaro, if i used rumfire 45ml there wudnt be a trace of anything. boosted funk after mixing with LROK from hampden estate collection. I insist 45ml lime is the way to go here to balance the 30ml of maple and falerum. ( i made with 30, tasted and then added another 15ml of lime and it was so much better)
Chivas 12 and alvear 1927 pedro ximenez, lovely, next time more sherry and less brown sugar for even more sherry influence for me. maybe 10/5
swap 15ml Syrup for 20 ML maple syrup for more flavor and same lv of sweetness
correction had AI do glucose/sucralose analysis is about 18-20% more sweet at 20ML to feel free to replace 1:1
Made with Woodsford reserve, very nice indeed, bourbon has a big impact on this cocktail, I pressed my mint with the bourbon before sharking, only makes sense ...

This is great, however i feel is a step down from "Daisy de Santiago" which is what came to mind when i tasted it.
Afterthought : Rum coffee martini, but tiki style and way more complex >:D
Pretty unique with the coffee, complex profile, i skipped them white rum and used a demerara rum also instead. Experimented with some falernum and next remake id use 10 ml falernum rather then the Simple syrup. 10/10
Mostly rum forward, so i used Bacardi white and what i got was a meh drink , maybe try 8 year old or so . refreshing, delicate, balanced. 8/10
used 10ML Rumfire and it overpowered the agricole ... watch it on the balance front ... it was also better but bye bye grassy notes and hello FUNK.
I ruined this by using rumfire, although i prefer the outcome is completely dominates RHUM JM. did i mention i liked it more with rumfire ? :D ... next time id use agricole
Very high quality agricole, I mostly drink this neat or use it as a float to add a grassy hint. The charring really calms down some of the grass notes also.
best rum under $20 in my humble opinion, forget bacardi or other unaged rums this stuff will simply drastically change a cocktail that calls for white rum. dont get me wrong i still like funky jamaican whites but those can overpower drinks and thus use is more risky in most recipes ( like hampden rumfire)
this cocktail wont blow you away, but if you want a much better version where the rum actually adds something simply use white agricole ! i used rhum clement white, might rival ... and -
no fresh passion fruit ? who cares try 25ml syrup 20 ml lime to balance out !
great, tangy, maybe 30ml lemon instead ? used apple cider.
That is hard to beat, no modifications planned lol might play around with more acidity and a tad more sweetness say, 20 ml lemon 18ml M Syrup.
Excellent, delicate though and yield is small so make it a double if serving on large glass. no honey syrup ? microwave 3 parts honey 1 part water less then 5 seconds.
Lime juice, Amaro (e.g. Montenegro), Galliano liqueur, Pineapple juice, (+ 2 more)
I make this often, but opting to conserve Chartreuse, using 30ML galliano 🤌 and 20 amaro (montenegro) , delicious.
