"99" by name and 99° proof (49.5% alc./vol.) by strength, this banana-flavoured liqueur which was launched in 1997 is the original in a range of high-strength...
Just wondering whether this should be classified as a replacement crème de banane liquor, despite perhaps advocating for its inclusion a month or so ago. As in, this really is a different kind of drink if we were to compare it to what is generally considered to be a banana liquor: at the very least, the ABV is 2.5x the usual 20% of liquors, but it's much thinner in texture so it simply can't be swapped into banana-oriented cocktails without seriously breaking them.
I don't think it warrants a new category of its own. I've not tried it but just the packaging puts me off - perhaps it's simply a product that's best avoided.
