I'm going to agree with you regarding the sour element of many cocktails and - having a sweet tooth myself - I find that I use less lemon/lime than recommended, usually about 5mls less.
So this was an ideal cocktail for me. Perhaps too easy to drink! It reminded me of a lemon tart and that's no bad thing IMO.
