Reminiscent of an Espresso Martini but with raisiny fruit and distinctive gentiane bitterness. A great after dinner sipper but don't let that stop you...
Interesting - definitely worth a try. The vanilla syrup (I used a prepkgd syrup, not homemade) was too strong, and tilted the drink into the too sweet and too vanilla area. However, the PX dried fruit is apparent on the rum backbone, and the Suze earthiness is there on the edges as well. The small amount of earl grey tea is lost though. I may try again, with less (or a lower sweetness) vanilla syrup.
I had to make a few subs and added an extra ingredient but this created a delicious and far too easy to drink riff. The complex combinations of flavours is reminiscent of a very grown up coca cola! Specs I used:
60 ml Havana 7
20 ml PX sherry
10 ml Aperol
10 ml Vanilla Syrup
5 ml Earl Grey
5 ml Italicus (boost bergamot notes which I like)

This sounds delicious Martin. You could add it as a new cocktail in Cocktail Builder!
I really like this cocktail, but with all the big flavours I can't really taste wether I do or don't add the 5ml cold Earl Grey. I suppose it's just my unrefined palate?
