Seems like a good candidate for the "Autumn/fall" category.

Really nice and rich drink; however, I followed Jim Meehan's specs and went with 2 oz Laird’s straight apple brandy; 3/4 oz each lemon and orange juice; and ½ oz B maple syrup. My wife very quickly said I should add it to the Rolodex! (I did not try your specs yet.)

Thank you Simon for the explanation! I should have figured that out... :)

Meehan's recipe is close to our Savoy recipe. I've added "served long" to the name of this cocktail to avoid confusion with the classic recipe.

Great for an evening sipper. The cinnamon dusting was perfect. Wonderful on a early autumnal evening. Did up the Applejack a bit after tasting to give it a bit more punch.

Beautiful balance between the sweetness of the apple and maple syrup with the citrus. Dangerously drinkable. A perfect late summer/early fall drink.

This is an elegant, balanced drink. I had the original version:

- 2 Applejack
- ⅓ Orange
- ⅓ Lemon
- ⅓ Maple Syrup

Dsh Angostura, orange twist, straight up. I'll try the cinnamon next time. The ugly sibling, Old Vermont, wasn't an experience I want to repeat any time soon.
