For my taste, rum doesn’t work too good in this cocktail. It provides a sweet and flat, at the same time, flavour. Gin may could have done better here.
A perfect evening cocktail. I raised up Campari to 15 ml and found it very well balanced.
Liked this, but would be inclined to miss out the sugar syrup - feels like it would be sweet enough with just the passion fruit syrup.
Thanks for the advice! I left out the simple syrup and raised the passion fruit syrup to 7.5 ml. It’s a darn good cocktail!
I don’t like my drinks too sweet. So I made it with 15ml honey syrup 1:1 and 7.5ml lemon juice. Quiet suit again, for my taste. Next time I will pour 7.5ml 1:1 syrup. For the apple juice, freeze 1 apple for 8 hours, put it out of the freezer for 3 hours and just squize it in a glass over a strainer. You will get at least 60 ml juice from a small apple.
This is brilliant!! I made one with angostura 5 yo 30ml and Campari and one with angostura 5yo and plantation xaymaca half and half, and Campari. The second one was the best, with more toffee flavour. Excellent in any case. Our guests loved it too..
Add an orange wedge cut in 4 pieces, while stirring, and will make the difference…for the better…
