There is an equal parts shaken version with Campari added to the espresso and Licorice 43, called Camparajillo.
My favourite! I enjoy it on a large ice cube and the most current combination I settled on employs equal parts, 30 ml each of:
- lime cordial (I am preparing an oleo-saccharum ahead of time)
- pineapple juice (packaged, unsweetened)
- Campari
- Smith & Cross
I would add that today is the International Scurvy Awareness Day and 2 of the earliest cocktails (what we call today Daiquiri and Gimlet) were the key to discovering the cure to this disease, from 1500s onwards.
Scotch whisky, Peated malt whisky, Orange Curaçao, Lemon juice, (+ 3 more)
Replacing both the bitters and the sugar syrup with 10 ml Campari will yield a surprisingly tasty version of the Sazerac. And the same goes for the Old Fashioned.
I know, it sounds radical, but it's actually fine.
Considering a Martini is after all an all-booze drink, with no fruit juice and syrup, I would replace the 7.5 ml orange juice with the same volume of orange Curacao liqueur.
