I added twice the amount of lemon juice & homemade grenadine and it made it so much nicer in my opinion, I like tart and this was just a little too sugary for me otherwise it’s a great refreshing drink… I could see myself sucking down a pint glass full of this stuff when I was in college like it was a Long Island iced tea, lol!
Ive told others this and I’m repeating myself but try adding 3/4 to 1 full ounce of coconut milk instead of coconut cream. All coconut cream is, is coconut milk with a ton of simple syrup added. The coconut milk helps cut the sour and give it just a hint of the classic coconut Piña Colada taste
Try adding just straight coconut milk, about an 3/4 to 1 full ounce. Without all the sweeteners that make it coconut cream or cream of coconut, whatever u wanna call it. It mellows out the sourness and brings back just a touch of that classic piña colada taste.
If you’ve ever just tasted coconut cream by itself you’d know it’s not even remotely as sweet as something like Simple or even Pinapple juice. So I’m not too worried but if it does over sweeten it I’ll just add straight coconut milk without the Simple Syrup added to it cause that’s all Coconut cream is, a mixture of coconut milk and simple syrup. That way I get the coconut flavor I’m looking for without making it unbearably sweet
