This refreshing drink is simple to make, perfect on a warm evening. Very much enjoyed the background story, too!
Enjoyed this cocktail! Dry vermouth is mentioned in comments, but I do not see it listed as an ingredient.🤔
Thank you, Simon. The new recipe is my preference. Confession: I'm not a "pure" Martini lover, unlike my mother who enjoyed hers Churchill style ("just show the vermouth bottle to the glass.") Finding the previous version dryer, I enjoyed your revised mix more.
What a surprise! I've been trying to find use for the banana liqueur and cognac languishing in my bar. Bought the liqueur to try and replicate my dad's banana daiquiris (without success) and the inexpensive cognac for various mixed drinks. But until now I hadn't found anything I really liked using either. It's amazing how both spirits were transformed into something delicious, with a little sherry help! Many thanks!!

I made this for my mother, a single-malt whiskey fan. I used her 17YO Glenburgie scotch - it went down well. I didn't want to waste any Green Chartreuse, so I used an atomiser which seemed to work well. No lemon, so I had to make do with a blood orange peel.
"DISCARD...the Chartreuse"?! Seriously, these days?!!! Thank you for not wasting it in your version!?
A spoonful of Luxardo cherry juice improved this IMHO.
Accidentally grabbed dry vermouth rather than sweet, but ended up with a very pleasant aperitif that might appeal to those finding the original too sweet.
Substituted macadamia nut liqueur for the hazelnut liqueur quite successfully!
