I like this one on a large rock much better than up - the extra chill and dilution helps with the sweetness.

This is excellent with yellow Chartreuse. I also tried Strega as a substitute and it does not work in my opinion - the other flavors get lost.
This is also great with Strega substituting for the Yellow Chartreuse. If the Italian Dandy cocktail is too sweet for you, try this instead.
I substituted bourbon for the gin and shook it for a colder and more diluted taste - worked much better for my palate.
I love Benedictine, but this one comes out a bit too thick and sweet for my taste. I added another quarter ounce of sweet vermouth and loved the result.
