I’m not a bit fan of maraschino liqueur, so I replaced it with 5ml of cherry herring, 5ml of Kirschwasser (cherry eau de vie) and 5 ml of Mara chino liqueur. This is of course a much more complicated version but it turned out great with a little less of the artificial maraschino flavour.

I didn't like it too much. I just looked it up in my version of Schumann's Bar. The recipe is slightly different than mentioned above:
2 cl. Vermouth rosso
1 cl. Vermouth dry
2 cl. Calvados
Dash Brandy

So the vermouth dry is half of the other two main ingredients. Don't think that it would help the recipe though.

I think for a stronger, slightly more modern version I recommend going for 5 cl Whiskey keeping the other ingredients at 7.5 ml each. A nice twist is also to add just a dash of a peated scotch.

I added 10 ml of raspberry Sirup instead of the 5ml of the sugar Sirup. Was a nice twist, ultimately a variant on the Jack Rose Cocktail

I think the AKA ist not correct here. The clover club is with raspberry sirup and not just omitting the mint garnish

I found it too sweet. Generally, it could be a nice drink. Maybe I’ll add some supasawa next time to keep the appearance and still give it more balance.

I used a Ferdinands Dry Vermuth and Tanquaray 10 and found it too sweet. I added a dash of supasawa to keep a clear drink. Was quite nice but will not be my favourite.
