"Raki" is also not arak, as it is a distinct but similar Turkish product (not "rakee" but "rakih" it's not an English "i." Both arak and raki use anethole as the underlying chemical for the anise flavoring which louches as proof drops. L'arack de Musar is actually quite sweet and viscous overall with a pleasant but not lengthy finish.
