I'm a little confused here. The recipe uses port but the "Review" mentions rosso vermouth. Is that a mistake?

This was delicious! It keeps true to its “Old Fashioned” origins but ramps it up with the maple and walnut. One note, I used bottled in bond bourbon not Canadian whiskey. Maybe the stronger whiskey prevents the maple syrup from overpowering the drink?
This was delicious! Very true to its manhattan origins but the maple and walnut come through to ramp things up a bit. One note, I used bottled in bond bourbon because I didn’t have any Canadian whiskey. But I wonder if that prevented the maple syrup from overpowering the drink.
All of Hall of Fame 2/291. I think I prefer the Last of the Oaxacans name but this is the one in the HOF! Really tasty last word riff, though not quite as good as the OG. Still a very solid 4.5/5, but I find the mezcal a little...overbearing.
Mezcal, like scotch, has different levels of smokiness. Try a less smoky mezcal because I agree it can be overpowering
