Citadelle is produced from fermented Beauce, a variety of wheat, using a five column distillation process. Unusually, this includes what Cognac Ferrand describes as a “micro oxygenation process”, which involves passing oxygen bubbles through the distillate.

The finished spirit is hydrated to bottling strength with spring water from the village of Gensac in the Grande Champagne region.

Aparência:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Clean and minerally with faint aromas of boiled fruity sweets and poached pear.

Sabor:

Smooth with slightly oily mouth feel. Palate opens with sweet pear drop and builds with black pepper spice.

Aftertaste:

Pear drop notes continue through the peppery spice finish.
