This monastic liqueur commemorates 1605, when Marshal François Hannibal d'Estrées, presented the Carthusian monks of Paris with a recipe for an 'Elixir of Life'. Four hundred years later, in 2005, this rendition of the original recipe, bottled at 56% was first released.

Experimentado em 07/08/2012

Aparência:

Clear, emerald/olive green.

Aroma:

Herbaceous and slightly earthy/peaty with pungent peppery alcohol, pine, aniseed and crushed mint leaves and faint basil.

Sabor:

Get beyond the alcohol punch (we’ve reduced to approx. 43%) and you’ll find this green coloured liqueur has an equally verdant flavour. Very fresh minty herbal palate with aniseed, gentian and génépi. Lighter in sugar than other Chartreuse offerings.

Aftertaste:

Lingering minty herbal leafy freshness. Fades with celery notes.
