Released in August 2014 as a travel retail exclusive, this non-age-statement Mortlach is a blend of malts aged in four different types of casks: 1st fill ex-bourbon, refill ex-bourbon, heavily charred hogsheads and sherry seasoned European oak casks.

(The same cask selection as Mortlach Rare Old but bottled at 40% without chill filtration.)

Aparência:

Clear, mid golden amber.

Aroma:

Sultanas and raisins with buttery Eccles cake, vanilla and tropical fruit – papaya. Faint sulphur, aniseed and sooty earthy notes. Even more fruity with water.

Sabor:

Superbly balanced at 49% with strength countered by rich blackened fruit cake. Slight earthiness. Water exposes metallic note and draws out fennel.

Aftertaste:

Long fruity finish with lingering spice.
