Review and Tasting

Sampled on 05/07/2018

Appearance:

Clear, deep coppery amber.

Aroma:

Pungent freshly and heavily roasted coffee beans, vanilla, spice and faint dung (in a good, not off-putting way).

Taste:

Pronounced coffee – very well-balanced with natural coffee astringency offset by rich vanilla and chocolatey/bourbon biscuit notes. Enlivening spice adds interest and awakens / freshens this liqueur.

Aftertaste:

Light peppery spiced roasted coffee beans, chocolate, rich vanilla and zesty citrus.

Overall:

As coffee liqueurs go, Baristo is high-end espresso rather than instant granules with strong freshly roasted coffee bean aromas and flavours. Coffee stringency is balanced by rich vanilla with chocolate and spice adding zing and complexity.
