It is always important to give back, and MARTINI is renewing its commitment to support the charity Wine to Water, a non-profit organisation focused on supporting life and dignity for all through the power of clean water.
“When the idea came to me to start Wine to Water the only real job experience I had was tending bar. I dreamed of building an organization that fought water-related death and disease using different methods than anyone else. So, I started raising money to fight this water epidemic the best way I knew how, by pouring wine and playing music...” - Doc Hendley, Founder and President.
Whilst working as a bartender, Doc Hendley’s early fundraising events led him to travel to the Sudan, Africa to install water systems for victims of the government-supported genocide. Returning home, the haunting memories of what he had witnessed drove him to continue working towards providing clean water for the world and in 2007 he launched Wine to Water.
More than 740,000 people now have clean water through the Wine to Water community, but there is so much more to do.
Specific MARTINI RACING CICLISMO activities will raise funds for Wine to Water and we urge all participants to get on board with us to help support this very worthwhile cause.
