Pronounced ‘dog sh-varts’ and part of Flying Dog’s ‘Wild Dog’ series, Dog Schwarz was released in October 2011. Schwarzbier, or ‘black beer’, is a German term for dark lagers.
Sampled on 23/02/2012
Opaque, jet black with large tan head which fades to leave lasting layer of foam and light lacing.
Charred toast, smoky bacon, barbeque charcoal and liquorice nose.
Bitter chocolate, stewed espresso coffee, burnt toast charcoal and liquorice with faint smokiness.
Nutty coffee bitter finish. Perhaps best reserved for hard-core cognoscente.
