First released in 2003, and marketed as “the gentle dram”, this 16 year old whisky is matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels.

Review and Tasting

Appearance:

Clear, mid golden yellow with bright gold highlights.

Aroma:

Light and fragrant green apple skin and freshly cut pear flesh with linseed, balsawood and barley water.

Taste:

Stewed cider apple, pear skin, sweet barley, light and thin vanilla custard, delicate spice and faint candied mandarin peel.

Aftertaste:

Malty succulent crisp pear with light cinnamon spice and cream-of-soda vanilla. Faint whips of smoke. Light, fruity, fresh and rewarding.
