Intended to evoke the copper glow of molton lava coming from the Big Island’s Kilauea Caldera, this beer is a pale ale made using Honey, Munich, Wheat and Pale malts with Galena, Cascade and Mt Hood hops.
Sampled on 20/10/2012
(brewed 20-Apr-12) Hazy coppery amber with quickly diminishing medium, ivory coloured head leaving heavy lacing.
Burnt toast, burnt currants, caramel and fruit with faint grassy hops.
Apricot jam, bitter orange marmalade and piney hops with good malt backbone.
Steely, zesty hop toasty finish.
