Glenlivet was one of the first Scotch distilleries to use French Oak casks, in this case Limousin Oak, felled in the Dordogne region of France, more usually used to mature cognac and fine wines. These casks are used to mature this 15 year old malt with a tiny amount of sherry oak also in the blend.
