Akashi-Tai's Yuzu liqueur is made with high-quality fresh yuzu and Yamadanishiki (grand cru) rice from the Hyogo prefecture.
The rare citrus fruit is highly prized in Japan and this liqueur served chilled from the fridge makes for a very refreshing aperitif. Best served at 5-15°C. (Shake well before opening.)
Ingredients
Yuzu, Ginjo sake, alcohol, sugar
Sampled on 12/05/2020
Opaque, pale cloudy yellow. (Throws heavy sediment in bottle so shake well before opening).
Pungent zest citrus - grapefruit.
Intense tart lemon and grapefruit not quite balanced by sugary sweetness. The palate is on the sour side. Powerful citrus flavour masks the sake.
Long tart citrusy finish.
This tart, sour, and intensely citrusy liqueur is great served chilled as an aperitif and is a versatile cocktail ingredient that can be used in place of, or in addition to fresh citrus fruit.
