Distilled from malted and unmalted barley in pot stills and aged for a minimum of 12 years in a combination of 1st-fill ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry seasoned casks. This cask strength bottling is set apart from the standard 12 year old due to very small batches allowing for superior cask selection.
The Redbreast brand was first launched in 1939 as the brand name given to the pot still whiskey supplied by Jameson to whiskey bonders before bottling at the distillery became the norm in 1968. Stocks of whiskey in bonded stores petered out, but Redbreast 12-Year-Old was re-launched by the distillery in the 1990s as a single pot still whiskey.
Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength was launched in the UK in September 2011.

Clear, golden amber.
Pungent oily fruitcake/banana cake, vanilla fudge, hazelnut and cedarwood with red apple, dates and figs. Water brings out zesty lemon citrus.
Fruity with sweetness balancing strength. Citrusy spice, barley, liquorice, toffee, brazil nut and butterscotch with cracked black pepper. Well-balanced without water but how often do you want nearly 60% alc./vol. served neat?
Long, fruity, spicy finish with lingering butterscotch and barley.
