There was a young bartending star
Who dreamed he would open a bar
Then he worked for a brand
Took a corporate stand
And ended up doing PR
We love a good limerick. And we're sorry that wasn't one. Still, as today is Limerick Day (AKA Owl & The Pussycat Day), at least we have an excuse. Because today is the birthday of Edward Lear, who took a rhyme form usually used for utter filth and sanitised it for Victorian audiences in his 1846 Book of Nonsense.
We're toasting Mr Lear - and the limerick, a poem so simple that anyone can write one - with one of our own creations, a Limerick, an easy-drinking take on the classic Rickey that shows we're better at cocktails than poetry.
