Winning cocktail: Fizz D'Anvers

"I see my city as fresh, bold, exciting with a lot of attitude. I had experimented with Beefeater London Dry Fizz variations with beers before and quickly decided to try it with a fairly new Belgian Triple from brewery De Koninck located in the heart of Antwerp: Triple d'Anvers. To blend the fine spirit of London with the attitude of Triple d'Anvers I added fresh grapefruit juice and a spicy tincture based on Beefeater 24."

50ml Beefeater London Dry gin
50ml Homemade grapefruit & date syrup (2:1)
3 dash Spicy tincture (Beefeater based)
20ml Freshly squeezed lemon juice
15ml Egg white
50ml Triple 'Anvers (Belgian strong ale)

1/2 dried grapefruit wheel

Combine all ingredients except the beer in a shaker. Shake hard with ice cubes. Strain over ice cubes in a highball glass. Top off with the Triple d'Anvers. Garnish.
