Perfectly balanced. The maraschino is the star of the show, intoducing sweet funky flavour to the the dry rye whisky with the help of the sweet rich vemouth and the light and floral st germain. Reminded me somehow of a hemmingway daquiri or an el presidente. A must try if you like complex stirred drinks. Cheers!

Not sure if it was because I used a 100-proof rye, but I didn't find the need to reduce the elderflower liqueur, at first. The Combier brand of that liqueur is interesting on its own, and it did fine here. Over the course of a few sips, it leapt forward. Now I understand... Still, a powerfully flavored drink.

Fabulous. After reading the comments and liking a dryer cocktail, we did reduce the Elderflower by 1/2. It was perfect for us. Would be great either before or after dinner. A winner.

Solid cocktail, cut the St Germain to 1/3 the second time around and enjoyed it a bit more.

I quite enjoyed this. Similar to a Red Hook but nice flavors.

Outstanding.
There’s so much going on in this cocktail. Backbone of rye. Aromatics from the Punt e Mes and Luxardo. All balanced with a floral sweetness by the St. Germain.
