I tried it right after a Penicillin, and it's almost as good. I cannot identify Montenegro, but it tastes crisper than Penicillin, and I love it. Anyway, as with Manhattan, I enjoy every riff of them. Penicillin is a winning formula, and searching for cocktails with ginger liqueur /syrup plus honey plus citric brings another excellent cocktail.

replace montenegro with chartreuse yellow is perfect, maybe 10ml or more.

I could not taste the montenegro at all, sadly. I tried again but upped it to 10ml and it's just about noticeable...but I don't think it's an improvement on the original. I do like having more peated whisky and will be trying that in my regular penicillins.

Of course - it's still a delicious drink! Just the original Penicillin is absolutely divine.
