Cachaça (not slickly speaking a rum) adds distinctive grassy notes to this three 'rum' Daiquiri. Try swapping out the cachaça for rhum agricole and indeed...
works both with and without the bitters. It's difficult to get the sugar to dissolve if you do grind it in a mortar and pestle so if you want the full effect mix early and stir in the sugar and leave to sit.
It's rum forward and very nicely balanced. Perhaps it's for later in the evening, to be savoured more leisurely than the more classic Daquiris. We went with Havana Club Original, Plantation Original Dark and Rhum JM Rhum Blanc Agricole.
Not your ordinary daiquiri. Used Clairin Vaval Agricole instead of the cachaca. Also used Hamilton Demerara Rum. Very tart so do not leave out the sugar. A daiquiri for people who like to taste the rum.
