Whoa - givin’ it both barrels. I say this is worth the faff, including the four-way split gins. And yes I did go through balancing all the ingredients individually and, yes, it does pay off..! As a gin fan, this works better for me than most of the rum-based tikis, good as they are. Very easy drinking indeed, dangerously so!
I used different Gin's from the recipe above (Bareksten Dry, Old Tom and Navy, and even the elderflower was from Bareksten), but I followed through with Monkey 47 (the complexity is superb). And as of lately, I have started using a "Grenadine" liqueur instead of the syrup, with good results; more depth and body. I find this Cocktail to be one of the better Gin Cocktails out there. A must- try if you are a Gin lover!
