I use this instead of 2:1 sugar syrup (fraction of the price) with no complaints so far. It has a slight different mouth feel but is not discernible in most drinks. But I’m wondering if this is actually sweeter than 2:1 sugar syrup and can’t find that information reliably. I’d be grateful if anyone here knows.
The sweetness of your 2:1 sugar syrup will depend on if you measure by weight or volume - if by volume then your syrup will be very similar to commercial syrups such as this one. For more info, please search for our "Sugar and Sugar Syrups! area and then click on "Degree of sweetness (Brix)".
