Inspired and created for Monkey 47 Experimentum 2y06. Honey and mint notes in the gin are amplified in this bijou sour with monastic herbal liqueur complexity
I made this with St. George Valley Gin and Strega. The mint in my garden had medium-small leaves, so I used 7 not 2. Still not enough mint flavor. I did very much enjoy the drink, but a fruity gin is NOT the way to go. I will revisit this.
I tried to rebuild this cocktail, sorrily without the special Monkey gin. A mint and lemon zest decoration and the use of pure honey made a really good and not to sweet cocktail.
Just tried and quite different and also a tad sweeter with Strega - I'd cut the sugar back a tad. Also quite different when made with regular Monkey 74 verses Experiementum 2y06.
