Yes, agreed re the warming up! Tho I did feel there was a balance point, as the bitter flavours slightly started to overpower the botanicals and aromatics. Great cocktail tho.
For me this cocktail is very nice cold (As Dave Arnold I believe said, a warm cocktail is a sad cocktail!) which as you note suppresses some of the Cynar bitterness. For those who prefer more of the botanicals and aromatics, a drop or two of 20% saline may offer the perfect balance by both suppressing bitterness while enhancing the other notes.
Indeed start cold! I always shake till there's frost on the canister (and fine strain); or stir long in the mixing glass. Especially if not pouring over ice. Very fine cocktail!
I think I could drink this one neat if thats the right term albeit it benefits from the dilution. Indeed I'm going to be looking for that "sweet spot" going forward. Cheers.
Haha yeah it’s pretty bloody tasty! Talking of ginger-spiked/spiced drinks, Ive also got that double barrel Winchester in my gunsights. Have you tried it?
