Intriguing. I didn't have a strawberry for the garnish but this drink seemed to be begging for one. Something about the bitter sour sharpness and subtle underlying fruitiness that's reminiscent of the astringency of a strawberry. (Also, made this with Sazerac Rye.) Excellent++♡
I thought it was well balanced, although I did not use a rye, per se, but a Canadian Blended (Rich & Rare) that came out of my late father's liquor cabinet, with a 1/tsp of simple syrup.
I love suze and montenegro together, and rye based recipes, but was a bit disappointed with this. The suze is a little over dominant (and I do like suze bitterness), pehaps the proportions need a tweak for my taste to uptne amaro and drop the suze
