This stuff is pungent! Currently dealing with some fruit flies and they IMMEDIATELY started swarming as soon as I cracked open the bottle. I agree with Frederic in that there is definitely a "rotten funk" element to this that is very different from Jamaican rum "funk"... Might be a bit of an acquired taste, but gonna give it a whirl in a few different drinks and see how it goes.

I'm a big fan of funky Jamaican rums, and of grassy agricoles, but this is an entirely different experience. It's vegetal rather rhan grassy, with bell pepper and, yes, rotten funk notes. It does need strong complimentary flavors, because it will bully subtle ingredients out of sight.

To me the predominant taste and smell is more reminiscent of cut grass which has been left to sit on the lawn for about 4 days that has dried and began to rot. I find this works in cocktails that have strong flavors that can cover that vegetal rot funk.

Delicious, but I couldn’t eat a whole one!

Find this almost soapy unless seriously chilled. The aloe vera flavour is very strong to me and can be off putting.
