I was looking for something different to make with lime juice and ginger ale, so I gave this a try. I found it hard to discern the more subtle floral notes of the pisco, and mostly got tart ginger. The bitters are essential to bring this to life, but it's not going to replace a traditional dark and stormy in my rotation.
A very popular summer drink growing up in Peru. I normally use 2 oz/60 ml Pisco, 1/2 oz/ 15 ml but preferably 3/4 oz/22.5 ml of fresh lime juice (depending how citrus sour you like it. In Peru they typically use the juice of 1 lime per glass). I also use 2 dashes of Angostura bitters and plain ginger ale to top off. One of my favorite summer drinks.
