For me, the issue is that the elderflower overpowers everything, and the sweetness pushes it past my usual preference. That said, if you enjoy sweeter, floral, or “perfumey” cocktails, this might be right up your alley. With a little tweaking—maybe adding seltzer or using a brut prosecco—it could easily become a strong contender for a boozy brunch.
Very nice. I used Meyer lemon (neighbor’s tree, I was looking for a way to use a bag of them) which is not as tart as other varieties. My ratio cognac 1.75, St G 1, lemon juice.75, agave 0.5.
This is really well balanced. Some sweet, but not too much. Some sour, but not too much. Some spirit, but not too much. I could all too easily knock several of these back very quickly.
