I am not a big tequila fan, so the fact that there are a lot of factors at play in this breezy, casual sipper is a big plus for me. I found there to be just enough tequila in the stock mix and worried that the Campari would be too weak, but I was wrong. Just the right amount of bitter, with delicious herbal notes and a fruitiness that would make this a poolside favorite if I had the disposable income for a pool. This one will be coming out again!
Wow, I found it excellent. I found a slight taste of grapefruit... In consequence I think a dash of grapefruit bitter could add something very interesting !
A perfect summer cocktail.
Perfectly balanced. Often with these sorts of drinks we find ourselves dialling down on the specified volume of soda. Not with this one. And if the Tequila is not coming through strongly enough to your taste, maybe escalate to a Reposado or even an Anejo. Both work for us.
Leonga did an incredible job. What a number this is! Slightly earthy, citrusy and vegetal tequila pairs wonderfully with the slight herbaceous vermouth, with fruitiness bolstered by lime and Campari. While it is not a connoisseur's drink perhaps, it is a crowd pleaser in the best way possible. No wonder she won!
Huh. Not quite what I'd expected. Not as sweet, and more earthy and bitter. Immediately thought I needed something spicy to eat with this. Tacos or Indian food. I don't know why, but this is calling for coriander and smoky chicken to join it.
Got a Patron Silver on offer today and this seemed like the perfect recipe to try it with. Very nice, just the right level of sweet. I can see why it would be good at the beach.
