This...is strange. Individually, I love the components - el dorado 8, I tried to approximate the Nardini (a slightly more licorice and orange version of Averna?) with 3:1 Averna and a Dutch herbal bitter with strong licorice notes, and a tiny dash of Riga Balsam espresso. It was a very nice amari blend I'll certainly try again in the future, this batch of OJ is nicely flavoured, and I like pineapple...but the drink does not come together at all. I get no rum, little fruit, and bitter.

Bought a bottle of Nardini to make this before realising you can sub for Aberna! All good though, really enjoyed this drink. Smooth but with a punch.
