Very nice - a great way to enjoy sake! I used blanco vermouth (I prefer it to dry vermouth). A showcase for the sake flavors while keeping enough gin to remind you it is there, is more flavorful (and less boozy) than straight gin, and more clean on the palate than straight sake.

Thank you. I have added that to my shopping list. Meanwhile, I tried it again with Bombay Sapphire (not my favourite) … and it was absolutely delicious! I do not understand the chemistry at all, but this is a brilliant one for experimenting with.

Tried this with Tanqueray Export and 本所ぞ若戎酒 2020 - very interesting (and moreish), but this will be a completely different drink when made with less strongly flavoured ingredients. An invitation to experiment, certainly, but some guidance would be very welcome.

Presently, I favour Daiginjo Genshu for all sake cocktails.

Where did you get the martini glass?

Thanks for the reply and the link Simon! Does not look like they are still selling these exact glasses, but they have a similar one with a cone shaped base.

The glass was from UrbanBar.com but the best part of 20 years ago. I don't think still available.
