Cocchi vermouth do Torino I found too bitter here.
Agreed. Tried with cocchi (only sweet vermouth I had at home) in the Valentino version and found it too bitter.

This was a great aperitivo cocktail, we absolutely loved it. Just that the Italian guest of my party was quite startled with the name since apparently "ino" is a suffix in Italian to express something is small or cute and the previous part of the name equating the N-word in Italian. So yea an unfortunate wording for native Italian speakers apparently.
I made this one with Cognac and acutally really liked it. Now I realize Blanche Armagnac is quite a different product (which I do not own either). Guess I will have to re-try with Grappa or Pisco. :D
My favorite elderflower cocktail is... the Elder Sour!
I think you should give yourself some more credit for this beauty Simon and put in on the list.
My instinct would have told me to use an Anejo Tequila in an old fashioned. Then again, I have never tried one. Is there a reason to stick to Reposado?
Thanks for the response Simon, I will give it a try!

Surprisingly sublte. The ingredients work very nicely together.
I used budget ingredients and produced a five star cocktail. With quality ingredients this is surely 5+. Elegant in it's simplicity and complexity.
Thanks for the response! Ok, I was wondering if you had substituted for something other than a single malt. I might try a mild Scotch.

What whisky did you use then?
Nice evening sipping cocktail. Did find it a tad on the sweet side for my tastes. I would make again, but reduce the amaretto by 1/3.
I would agree. Or up the cognac by a third to have a full glass. ;)
Now after reading that story, I would try the drink no matter what's in it. Fantastic!
A pleasant sweet cocktail. It’s only draw back is its somewhat muddy appearance.
I noticed that about Blood and Sands before and always wondered if it was my Cherry Heering getting old, but maybe it is just the drink. Always looks much nicer in the pictures though.
Where did you get the martini glass?
Thanks for the reply and the link Simon! Does not look like they are still selling these exact glasses, but they have a similar one with a cone shaped base.

I would love to know that as well. They look great! I tried to find them online but did not have any luck yet.
Too sweet for my taste. Will cut down the sugar.
