After 4 years, came around to have this cocktail again. Liking our cocktails on the sour side and without the sugar covering up the tastes, made with unsweetened cranberry juice. Found it delightful. Tart and very festive (had during the Christmas holidays)
I agree with Florian in that the apricot dominated the flavors. I also agree with Frederick that it could have used just a touch of sweetness added (like 1/6 oz/5 ml) for better balance, but I guess it is very dependent on the Cranberry juice you used.
Very good and refreshing cocktail. With a barspoon more cranberry juice (Ocean Spray) it was very well balanced and did not get sweet. Before, the apricot brandy dominated a bit.
This is great. Good variation of a margarita. We used cranberry juice only sweetened with sugar. If you use the unsweetened it will be too sour. I also stay way from cranberry juice which is sweetened with syrups. They get too sweet.
Perhaps my ingredients were a bit less sweet than they were supposed to be (I suspect that my cranberry drink lacked a certain amount of added sugar), but I feel like this drink needed a teaspoon or two of sugar to really mellow.
