A Dry Martini with a Dutch influence courtesy of genever and orange curaçao. (Curaçao, the island where the oranges used to make the liqueur originate...
Don't know why we got obsessed with this cocktail, but we just posted a version of this called Rainy Sky. It uses Parfit Amour instead of curacao. Also added some orange bitters and garnish with an orange zest. Different but very nice.
Tried this again but with absinthe instead of the curacao. It is excellent also, but tastes entirely different. The absinthe adds a strong flavour of licorice. Since we are both absinthe lovers this was great. If you don't like absinthe, I would suggest staying to the above recipe with the curacao. Both are great.
The mixture of the vodka and Genever work wonderfully together. The curacao adds a hint of orange. Looking at the notes, may try again with absinthe in place of the curacao. Great find.
