Made with Madeiran Branca rum agricola, the gentian goes nicely with the slightly grassy rum. Nicely sour and bitter.

We were a bit wary of the Gentian so dropped the volume to 10ml...delicious for us.

That is quite a hit of rum and most definitely bitter though not sure about the sweet. I really feel, for me, this needs a touch of cane sugar or possibly agave to mellow the flavours.
(Added 5ml of cane sugar and perfect).
