Is this a 1:1 substitution with St Germain, or will that lead to unintended consequences and disappointment?

Yes, direct swap. Both are as good as each other. Fiorente is in a lighter, more sustainable bottle that's less standout and more functional. This is family-made and owned, while St-German is now owned by Bacardi.
