Looks like this page is outdated. Sazerac switched back to using whiskey. The "Original" is 70 proof (at least in the US) and the label states "SPIRIT WHISKEY WITH NATURAL FLAVORS AND CARAMEL COLOR": https://www.sazerac.com/our-brands/sazerac-brands/southern-comfort.htm There's also a "Black" option that is 80 proof, and a 100 proof option.
