Can only imagine how much more sour this would be with a third again as much lemon juice as per the original recipe. Very much liked your take on it, thank you Simon. And as Mr. Hinojos says,"this is not sweet".

This took me by surprise. It's tart, funky, spicy orangey with just hints of pomegranate, which acts more to bring forth the rum than anything else. I really do like it, I'm just surprised it was so much like a daiquiri rather than its own thing.

This was tonight's aperitif cocktail. Initially I thought it was a bit tart and needed a couple of ml of sugar syrup but as I was drinking it it was getting better and better. Had to use Appleton instead of Myers and then found out I can get Myer's rum again. It disappeared for a few years whilst the owner sold the brand to Sazerac. I wondered why I could not get it anymore and kept searching and searching and tonight I was lucky, my normal supplier also stocks it.

Agreed with the got better and better Nathalie. Glad you found more Myers's. Love that stuff. It's been my sister's favorite forever! Cheers!

Very citrus forward, and as John said, not overly sweet. Very enjoyable if you like more citrus sour than sweet cocktails.

Unlike many other rum cocktails, this is not sweet. Nicely balanced and very refreshing. Being big rum drinkers, not sure why we have not had this cocktail before, but it will not be the last time.

Exquisite. If that's the last cocktail we get the chance to enjoy sat outside in the sun at the end of the working week this year, then it was a good way to end. (Of course, I'm nevertheless hoping for another sunny Friday evening next week, and another drink on my terrace, but I'm not going to push my luck!).
