This is a super cocktail. We started by doubling the quantities here and then adjusted. With 60 ml gin / 15 ml lime / 22.5 St Germain. This proved a tad sharp. However, 60 ml gin / 15 ml lime / 30 ml St Germain proved to be the perfect balance.
Edit: Actually I see he balance I have suggested here exists in another entry on this site as a French Gimlet …here https://www.diffordsguide.com/cocktails/recipe/10679/french-gimlet?srsltid=AfmBOoqnCD978vqwUW-isJ3kHW2F9y1mma6MjfMgJBbmnNF9AYggXCcg

It’s a gimlet and it’s elderflower, nothing you can go wrong with. Quite yummy.

I made this for my mum with a non-alcoholic gin and elderflower cordial, and she enjoyed it. I did use a bit less elderflower cordial to offset the sweetness of the gin sub and a bit more lime.

A very nice cocktail. I took Tessa’s advice and increased gin to 1.5, St Germain .75, lime juice.5. I haven’t had a Gimlet since they started putting high fructose corn syrup in Roses Lime Juice (in the US at least).

I’m not usually wowed by gimlets which can skew kind of lime popsicle-flavored for my taste, but this is delicious. I might add a touch more gin the next time I make it. I’m loving the elderflower liqueur and lime, but they’re totally overpowering the gin for me. (Admittedly, I didn’t have Rutte Dry Gin & subbed in Boodles. Like a heathen.)
